Key features of this new powermeter that is integrated into the Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 chainset are as follows:
- Just 70g in weight, impressive for a dual sided powermeter
- Left/right power balance and measuring
- Pedal smoothness
- Torque effectiveness
Cadence
- ANT+ connectivity to bicycle computers
- Bluetooth connectivity for firmware updates,
- USB chargeable battery
- Shimano's own technology for strain gauges to measure power, accurate to ± 2%

Great news for the home mechanics among you is that the R9100-P doesn't require re-calibration if you change your chainrings.

The only thing you will have to do is ensure that the powermeter is "zero'd" before every ride. Which is simple, place the righthand crank so that its at the 6o'clock position and press the button on the control unit until the LED light turns blue. When it's blue, release the button and the LED will begin blinking, the zero offset calibration is then complete. The reason for zero'ing the powermeter is so that it knows what a zero load is, meaning that the ride you are about to embark on is as accurate as can be.
